Car wash owner Harold McKonly started Kleen-Rite in 1959. He noticed a supply need among operators, and worked to fill the gaps. Thanks to his leadership, Kleen-Rite grew into a trusted provider of car wash supplies at great prices.
Today, Kleen-Rite is led by Harold’s son, President Mike McKonly. Joined by Vice President Keith Lutz, they have led the company into a new phase of growth and expansion.
Since 2006, the company has expanded both in and out of Pennsylvania! First, the company expanded out west with the creation of a Las Vegas, Nevada distribution center. Tom O’Leary, Las Vegas site manager, says he has seen above average growth and has seven full-time employees. Second, the company moved into Texas with the creation of a warehouse in Grand Prairie. Located near Dallas-Fort Worth, the Texas site has eight dedicated employees.
Finally, it was time to expand at home. Several small warehouse spaces were located at the company headquarters in Columbia, Pennsylvania. These areas were all combined into one large facility in the nearby town of Mount Joy. Plus, warehouse employees were able to keep their jobs. The crew resumed work in the new 102,000 square foot space upon its completion.
Thanks to the great staff at each location, customers can rest assured that car wash supplies are only a quick click or phone call away!
