The New All-In-One CryptoTap Plus Credit Card System
CryptoTap Plus is CryptoPay’s next step in providing top-notch cashless payment for car washes! This credit card and mobile payment reader is a standalone tap and pay unit. It does NOT need to be paired with a CryptoPay swiper. Note that this unit is for tap and pay only and does not accept magnetic stripe swiping. You will need to have a swiper in addition to the CryptoTap Plus if you still want to accept that type of credit card payment.
The device has a small footprint with a simple but clear design featuring the tap and pay symbol and colorful LEDs on the edge. CryptoTap Plus accepts: contactless credit cards and debit cards, Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and Google Pay. Simply plug in the CryptoTap Plus and it’s ready, provided your wash currently has the CryptoPay system in operation. The reader connects wirelessly to your coordinator just like a CryptoPay swiper does now – no wiring or cabling required.
How do I change to CryptoTap Plus if I currently have a CryptoPay swiper on my machine?
You’ll have to change the front door on your machine to convert from a swiper to the new CryptoTap Plus. This is because it has a different mounting hole pattern. CryptoTap Plus comes mounted on the new door and plugs in identically to the existing Cryptopay swiper cable. No programming is needed, as the machine will recognize the new CryptoTap Plus and is ready to start vending. Changing out the front door for one with the CryptoTap Plus is a simple process, since only six bolts hold the door to the cabinet shell.
Adding CryptoTap Plus to your Laurel vending machine that has the old green circuit board
You will need to upgrade to the DigiMax circuit board in order to use CryptoTap Plus. Retrofit kits are available that convert your existing machine over to the newer DigiMax circuit board. Doing so will allow credit card acceptance. These retrofit kits include a DigiMax board along with a new front door and CryptoTap Plus. You do not need to take down the machine from your wall. The cabinet, magazine assembly and the coin mechanism all stay in place, so the transition is quite simple.
