As always, we here at Kleen-Rite like to stay up to date on any exciting news or worthwhile headlines from the car wash industry. Are you also curious to find out what’s been going on? If so, here’s the latest from some of the most interesting car wash happenings across the industry.
A Free Clean for Deserving Veterans
Each year come Veteran’s Day, Grace for Vets (GFV) works tirelessly to promote free car washes for veterans and active-duty personnel. In 2024, a total of 4,309 car washes partook in this worthwhile cause. That’s a notable bump of 20% from the prior year. Thanks to the strong support from car washes across the country, almost 400,000 free washes occurred. From large-scale players in the industry like Sheetz and Mister Car Wash to localized, family-owned facilities, it was a unified effort to show a small amount of appreciation for men and women who truly deserve it!
El Car Wash Adds a Hall of Famer
In business, as in sports, having great teammates is a key to success. El Car Wash clearly understands this, as they’ve recently announced legendary running back Barry Sanders is joining their ownership group. “Becoming a part of the El Car Wash movement was the perfect opportunity for me to invest further in Michigan,” the Hall of Famer states proudly. “The company’s growth, dedication to excellence and unique approach to customer experience are just a few reasons why I can guarantee you’ve never experienced a car wash like this.”

With over $350,000 donated to various organizations, plus their specialty hiring program to support neurodivergent individuals and veterans, the El Car Wash team continues to provide support and opportunity wherever their car washes pop up.
Washes for Wishes
WhiteWater Express is a continually growing car wash chain with more than 120 locations now, spread across six states. Expanding the WhiteWater brand has been important over the company’s eight-year history. Additionally, giving back to those who need it remains a vital priority. To that end, WhiteWater launched their “Washes for Wishes” campaign in July. Essentially, this is a program where they donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation for every unlimited plan sold. They raised $50,000 by the end of the year. Certainly, that’s an impressive total. Overall, it’s been a spectacular run of success for this growing chain found predominantly in the Midwest and Texas.
